Great ideas often seem to take on a life of their own and are propelled by their own sheer momentum.
The dissemination of the first Land Rovers basically caught-on in just this way, seemingly overnight, around the globe.
Launched at the Amsterdam Motor Show some 62 years ago, on April 30, 1948 to be exact, the original Land Rover Series I was conceived and took its place as a truly pioneering civilian, four-wheel drive capable, all-terrain vehicle.
So well-designed, and so well received by the public, was the original 1948 Series I that by August of 1948 Land Rovers were operating in, and/or represented in, over 68 countries around the world. Not bad for four months after launch, huh? Such success for a vehicle, even by today's lightening-fast standards, would be quite a cause for celebration.
Today, Land Rovers are sold and used in over 160 countries throughout the world. Isn't it time you made one an integral part of your day-to-day world? Perhaps a Range Rover? Or maybe the all-new LR4? LR2 is a nice sporty choice too. Whatever your taste, there is a Land Rover to suit your lifestyle, it's what made us who we are after all!
