Despite a chilly haze and threatening skies, with a cold drizzle in the air, a hardcore band of Colts Neck Polo followers were undeterred and led the cheering section for the home team during yesterday's second charity polo match of the CNP season. Colts Neck Polo's Team Land Rover Monmouth faced visiting Buckleigh Polo on the polo field at Bucks Mill Park in Colts Neck, NJ.
Despite a gallant effort by Colts Neck, the Buckleigh team ran the field and ultimately won the day. And, they were graciously given a round of applause by the small crowd of local spectators. After all, polo fans are not savages and nothing if not cordial. So, despite a sound thrashing, Colts Neck and visiting Buckleigh ended the day on an up note with the smell of good sportsmanship in the air!
A good time was had by all and charity, as always, was the ultimate winner at Colts Neck Polo. |
