MAHWAH, NJ, January 11, 2012– Land Rover North America is proud to announce today that the 2011 Range Rover has been awarded the 2011 Polk Automotive Loyalty Award in the Luxury SUV category.
This accolade marks the fourth consecutive win in the SUV category for the Range Rover and the seventh overall Polk win for the model; it was honored in the Prestige SUV category in 2006, 2005 and 2004.
“Land Rover customers are our greatest ambassadors and receiving an award based on their actions is extremely gratifying," said Kim McCullough, Brand Vice President, Land Rover North America. "To have the Range Rover receive this exciting award for the fourth consecutive year is a testament to the strength of the brand."
Polk’s Automotive Loyalty Awards are presented to OEMs that demonstrate a manufacturer’s ability to retain owners over repeat buying cycles.Loyalty is determined when a household that owns a new vehicle returns to market and purchases or leases another new vehicle of the same model or make. The 2011 awards are based on an analysis of 5.5 million return-to-market events during the 2011 model year.
“There are a number of great vehicles in the luxury SUV segment and Range Rover’s continued success in this segment speaks volumes for both the vehicle and the brand,” said Brad Smith, Director of Polk’s Loyalty Management Practice. “The luxury SUV segment is especially challenging for manufacturers, as consumers are increasingly opting for smaller and more fuel-efficient vehicles, and Land Rover’s dominance is well-deserved.”
