Land Rover Announces 1,000 New Jobs at its Solihull Manufacturing Plant in the United Kingdom

Mahwah, NJ, November 19, 2011 - Land Rover, the UK's largest automotive design, engineering and manufacturing employer, is looking to further expand its workforce as it embarks on its most ambitious growth plan in recent history.

The company has announced plans to recruit more than 1,000 members of staff at its advanced manufacturing plant at Solihull. These positions are being created in support of the business's stated ambition to deliver 40 significant product actions over the next five years thanks to a multi-billion dollar investment in product creation.

Commenting on the new opportunities, Des Thurlby, HR Director at Land Rover, said: "This is great news for Solihull. We shall be increasing the plant workforce by more than 25%. We have a loyal and committed workforce at Solihull. These jobs are well paid with great benefits. The recruitment campaign launched in the UK notes that Land Rover will be actively recruiting production operators and skilled trades people in the UK.
