Land Rover is celebrating their 25th anniversary in the US at this year's New York International Auto Show.
The company is marking its 25th year in the States with an awesome display of historic models for the occasion. Vehicles on display include: a 1987 Range Rover, a 1993 Land Rover 110, a 1995 Range Rover Classic and a 1994 Camel Trophy Discovery, plus a few surprises.
While many of these vehicles will be on static display at the show, the week preceding the show's official public opening saw Land Rover set up a special 'Urban Jungle' off-road course onsite to demonstrate the vehicles' extensive capabilities.
The brand debuted globally in 1948, but Land Rover didn't officially make its way across the Atlantic, and to the US market, until 1987. Since then, Americans have bought over 575,000 of the incredible sport utilitiy vehicles which are oft referred to as 'the best 4x4's by far."
Land Rover is often credited with developing the runaway consumer interest in luxury SUV's with the introduction of its posh and plush, yet nonetheless highly capable, Range Rover line.
The New York International Auto Show, which is at New York City's Jacob Javits Convention Center, has a ten-day public run from April 6 through 15, 2012.
